Costume measurements for Mulan is on Monday and I bet that I'm gonna freak out when I see the figures.

Today, I went to 3 consecutive dining places and I feel that I'm really bloating. This happens almost everyday and it's equally happy and unhappy! Ugh it's so difficult to choose what to wear everyday since I'm used to wearing fit (but okay) clothes, and now those fit clothes are getting tighter everyday! HAHAHA. I usually shed off my Christmas calories during the summer (since it's dance/workshop season), but now.... I dunno. Food is chasing me! Haha. It's so hard to refuse blessings.

...but I'm soooo tamad for HipHop Abs! And I'm always out so I the only time I'm home is DSL or sleeping time! Teehee. Plus. I hate that McDo is giving away happy free upsize coupons that allow me to upsize my happy Cheeseburger! Agghhhh.

Oh well towel, eat and be merry for tomorrow we shall diet!!!

I'm terribly bothered at the moment. Tomorrow will be a make or break day for me.

It was great help though that Lea randomly asked why I was "bothered". Wasn't expecting she'd ask, but anyway. I discussed the situation with her and well, she helped me fathom what's going on as well.

If there's one thing I badly needed to realize, this might be it. I've always tried to do things in such a way that it will complement what my mom discreetly (or bluntly) asks of me. Well, maybe it's good enough that I had the liberty to choose what track to take in college, but it doesn't help that she pours out enormous expectations, especially right after my graduation. It's like her ultimate dream that I graduate and she constantly thinks that we will be filthy rich the day after I march and get that spectacular little thing called diploma.

It's not that I don't want to graduate, it's just that I fancy more favorable things at the moment. I'd rather take my feet to a happy environment (which more likely spells out the word "theater"), than trying to please professors who'd rather have things happen their way rather than how you think it should be.

And for the next term, I'd have to excuse myself AGAIN for the conflicting class schedules because of Mulan rehearsals. Fine, priority must mean 'school', but I just don't find peace in that realm. I just want to get this over and done with. (Good grief! I've been saying this since first year college!!!)

I want to feel free at least. I want to be able to do my shows without class conflicts. I know I'm in a hurry, but I'm really getting tired of all these pretensions -- pleasing people just to get that 'spectacular little thing'.

I just want to be able to do what I want to. Without the pressure of my mom. Well, yeah, theater is definitely NOT a very lucrative profession, but it's the profession that you could juggle with other things. I'd rather live with mediocre financial status doing what I like than be filthy rich in an environment that would consume me alive.

"But you have to live your dreams, not anyone else's", it's one of the best lines I've heard. And I just had to hear it tonight.

June 4 2007

This day is my new birthday :)) HAHA. I was uber surprised to see Gigo in Starbucks and I got really confused and blah, haha. He said that this is a free country and he can get himself a drink wherever he wants to. Then he asked if I want to have dinner with him in Tiendesitas since he has no kasama and stuff, and he waited for me til I was done.

PFFTTT, didn't know that Tricia and Marvin were there, they set up this lil elevated gazebo with Spongebob table cloths, party hats, plates, glasses, balloons and all that jazz (because there was a shortage of Disney Princesses in Toy Kingdom daw) haha. They put a huge tiara (with pearls and studs) on me and I had to wear it the whole night (which made me feel like the Statue of Liberty) HAHA. After our candlelit dinner, they brought out a happy pretty pink cake!! Aaw Gigo thankyouuuu! You're the guhreatessst.

My twin got me a happy Disney Princess lunchbox and happy pretty pink treats inside (to make up for the Spongebob stuff HAHA) Thanks twin I love it!! :) And Marvin's 20-question-creature drove me nuts.

We walked around Tiendesitas (with my tiaraaaa!!) and made friends with happy pets! Aaw they're so pretty! Then we went to Fun Ranch HAHAHAH :)

Gigo brought us all home but they stopped over my place first haha.

Thank youuuu Gigo, Tricia, Marvin!!! I love you forever and ever and ever. :D you guys super made my day, and I'm still in shock. :) I LOVE YOUUU :)

I'm having my life back...from zero to hero.

I was a bum this summer, doing practically (and really nothing) but DVD marathon. It's my first time to be idle in such a long time and it killed me somehow that I couldn't go to Rep for the 2nd consecutive year because school break officially starts mid-April and ends mid-May.

So there, I started my summer knowing that I WILL watch Rep's A6 showcase but noooo, I suddenly got involved. Got a text from Hogi and Sundee (he said 'please be our SM' and how could I say no? :p)

Mia's backing me up with my first backstage job yeay. I'm really apprehensive about everything but I'm having fun. I'm kind of getting the hang of it :)

Rep blues at Jay's Party

Yesterday...

..was an uber long day for me and Tricia so we initially thought of not going to Jay's party anymore. And besides, twas my mom's birthday too. Haha. Oh well.

We met up at Ateneo and blah, and came pretty late :p aaw when we went in, Meynard was there and so were happy Rep people! Twas quite a reunion, teehee. Funny how we kept on having that impulsive need for the ever-so-inevitable song vomit. Meynard started singing songs from JCS, OOTIS, hahaha, we just had to burst into our songs :p too bad we didn't actually have the chance to jam.

I missed these people more than anything. :D

I can't help it.

I seem to lose the better of me when that big grey cynic comes to consume me alive, leaving no hope for a step backward, a rope to grasp, or a breath to even try to release a long and loud shriek. It feels as if I'm its favorite delicacy.

Imagine stepping into a room of colors and candies, of jellybeans and lollipops... it makes you want to spend the remainder of your lifetime locked in a chamber of unyielding chuckles, but then this Mr. Oh-I-Shall-Eat-You cynic-chimera attacks you and you'd think it's just just a trap and all. You'd have crazy ideas of candies having nasty fangs to chase after you, to eat you instead of you feasting over them. Suddenly everything becomes monochromatic. Colors snap and disappear, leaving one bitter rainbow in shades of grey. You take a step forward and fall into a cliff with ugly serpents waiting to gobble you up.

AHAHHA joke lang. OA na.

Anyway to make thoughts easier, isn't the 'happiness eater' the most irritating thing in the world? Here you are having the time of your life, celebrating the little sparks of happiness that fall upon your feet. You try to be in all smiles for at least a short span of time, and kaboooooooom, the happiness eater comes and in a fraction of a second, you're back to a world bursting with bitterness and blahs.

Pfft.

I just got home and I'm way too lazy to write.

Tin, Ate Hogi and I met extra early and had lunch at Pizza Hut. Ahaha yeay. So there. After eating we went up to the cinemas and saw some cast friends, blah. We also saw Hendri (who btw is the producer of HSM) and there, he told us to come in already though the house doesn't open til an hour or so. So we stayed with some BlueREPpers in the theater first then watched their rehearsal run before the show started. Blah.

Wait. I just realized that...we didn't use our tickets :( ahaha. They're still in one piece, untorn, unused... we shouldn't have bought. ahaahha

The show went pretty well and it was fuuuun! :D except that I thought the number of people in the cast was quite big for the stage, there were 40 something of them. Hahaha. Anyhoo, Karel Marquez was a good Gabriella naman :p ehehe.

Yeay to the Salonga. PICC Uncut concert

I'm not in the mood to write but I feel like typing soooo...

So yesterday (Sunday, 11Feb)...

Twas so funny that Tin and I had problems with our tickets not because we don't have any for the concert, but we had spare ones :)) So we thought of Tricia and yeay after a lot of suspense, she's ready to come even if her mom never really gave a definite "yes" :p

So after several misadventures on the way to the area, Tricia, Tin and I successfully arrived at PICC :)) ahaha. We had another extra ticket and some scary scalper bought it from me! Oh well, better sold than wasted.

I guess this is a very uncanny Lea concert. She was sooo kulit and everyone kept laughing! :)) Kamusta naman, in the middle of a broadway repertoire, there was an unfamiliar intro so we were trying to guess what song it was...lo and behold it was the o-tukso-layuan-mo-ako song :)) hahaha, she said it was requested by some very reverend father watching :p

ahaha, she personalized "Nothing" from A Chorus Line.
She said "Salonga" instead of "Morales" and "Manila" instead of "San Juan" :p

Ooh, she sang I Dreamed A Dream TWICE. Her first and last song. Deja vu. >;p

Blahdiblah.
Of course she was given flowers before the show ended and while that was going on, Tin, Tricia and I were talking about our semi-pathetic "dream" of at least becoming a flower girl. After like 20 minutes, we bumped into Charmie as she came out of Lea's dressing room....ahahha we didn't realize that she was the girl who gave the enormous bouquet to Lea pala :))

And there it goes again.

Everytime I wake up, event frames play in my head rewinding the so-called movie that ran in my sleep. Yes, I weirdly remember the odd flicks that I dream about. Mind you, I don't just remember-remember, but I see them happening again when I try to recall when I wake up. I find it rather strange because I used to forget dreams, but the wheel has been turning lately.

In the morning, my dreams leave me either laughing, crying, sobbing, and sometimes even laughing while crying. One time I woke up in tears---I dreamed that Karla got mad at me because I forgot to switch off the light OF THE SUN. Then a couple of weeks ago, I dreamed that I was some sea creature (mermaid?) and together with my aquatic friends we tried to escape from an evil sea tyrant and illegally lived on land...then my brother had a large pool with lots of fish living in it then I drank all the water because it was pink and I thought it was juice or something, then all the fish living there died! What the hell.

My dreams also revert my childhood. I always dream of my dad, our house at Valle 5, and chunks of nostalgic things. These are the dreams that make me want to sleep forever.

What then are dreams? I've read so many stuff about this and it seems that no one has ever really found the real sensible logic behind it. Is it just something created to "entertain" our minds because it's boring to be idly asleep? Or does it really mean something we've yet to find out? Is it like a candy-coated precaution or a series of what-ifs?

If the Freudian theory of sleep was correct (though very uhm...ahaha), then geez, I guess I must be scared :))

I think it's a good thing that the press corps' literary editor-in-chief (uuh, Joseph) is seemingly forcing me to join the staff again. If I will be compelled to write, I guess I can have my sanity back.

I'm a lover of words and it's just scary that I stopped writing--well, for school papers, literary publications, and even my own blog! I just think that there's nothing happy to write about lately. I'm afraid I'm even beginning to lose the capability to write a single sensible paragraph.

I still find it hard to stay in an environment which doesn't really cater to what my system's used to (with that I meant people). Sometimes it's just so hard to deal with a certain type of people (which apparently is about 90% of the population) and the thing is you can't even try to say why you're so annoyed with them coz duh, you're dead if you dare. I've been "surviving" for almost 2 years, and I will hopefully survive another final year. And...HELLO, GRADUATION. (wooow, that sounds really fulfilling. good riddance.)

But don't get me wrong..I love my course :) REALLY. It's the course I've wanted from the very beginning and right now I'm enjoying my majors dearly (well, except the part where I have to draw). That's why no matter what, I still went for it...even if it's only offered in this school. Sabi nga nila, "you can't have it all"-- haha, so there you go: perfect course with a blah environment.

happy birthday Hogi / Rep's Sound of Music

Wasn't able to get a chance at the pc earlier, so here it is.

So last Saturday (Dec16th)...

...I went Christmas shopping at Glorietta/Landmark/SM/Greenbelt, hahaha. There were alot of people rushing their shopping too, the malls were sooo crowded and lines were uber long! Good thing I had like four hours to shop. At around 6pm, Ate Hogi came (happy birthdaaay!) and we looked for this shirt she was looking for at Artwork. We went to Bench after and shopped more of my gifts and waited for Tin. I had six heavy shopping bags with me, good thing they came and helped, haha. Funny, one of the paper bags were uber big I can squeeze myself in it! :))

We had dinner at Yellow Cab and after eating, we checked out the Philippine Madrigal Singers at the Greenbelt fountain area. OMG, they were seated while singing and their voices were kglnbnbkldnfklbhaueighkjdfhvkjhvjksdf woah. :D and then and then after the show there was a fireworks display! Yeay yeay yeay.

So there, we went to Gb1 to just check out Sound Of Music because we didn't get tickets for that day, twas already sold out =/ so there we hung out at the OnStage lobby with the Rep people and we watched the Tony Awards, Avenue Q, Wicked, and some weird japanese guy on Sundee's laptop (Robbie Guev's brother, yeay) and he was forcing me to take his brother's class next year, hahaha. Then we went on talking about theater companies since Hogi's from Trumpets, Tin's from Tanghalang Pilipino and I'm from Rep :)) the racism of theater! Hahaha.

It's so depressing that we can hear the show and we can't even watch :)) Sundee said we could come in buttt... hahaha nevermind. :p after the show we just went inside to greet everyone.

Cherie is my favorite. Super. She's as great as she is on tv when she's on theater, especially in Doubt! But of course I like her better on stage :D Cherie and Menchu, yeeaaay :D

I'm too lazy to blog but I want to. Whattadilemma. Anyhoo, today...

...I met up with Tricia in Ateneo and blahblah. Stayed in the caf with Eya :) Saw Mika there, wahooeee she kept on shouting at me :)) wahahaha. I guess I never answered her questions correctly (and seriously).

We hung out in the BlueRep room to kill time while waiting for people and yeah, coz I had to lend my recorder to Reb.

At 8am, Tricia and I had our last minute song rehearsal. So Tricia's singing Waiting For Life from OOTIS and Wizard and I from Wicked. My "final" songs were Special and Purpose, both from AveQ.

Weee, it's the pakwan I gave Tricia! :D

Munchy munchy twins

We went to Ateneo at around 10:30ish, and there were alot of people! Ohmy, our numbers were 95 and 96, and it's only number 20something's turn to sing! Good grief, there were 200 who came to audition for HSM, hahaha.

**It's so funny that everyone calls me 'twin', hahaha. Tricia always introduces me to everyone as her twin, so there. It seems that the world is my twin now.

GABBI. She looks sooooo different now, we can't even figure out what changed, hahaha! :D

Dan was there and he did the choreography of the dance for We're All In This Together, which was slightly different and more complicated than the original one. We had a hard time picking up the steps, and my brain wasn't functioning very well. Hahaha, FUNNY.. Tricia and I isolated ourselves in this little corner to practice the dance.. and one by one people snuck in and kept on saying 'can I join you?', hahah people we totally don't know. And after a few mins, *tadaaaah* there were already ALOT of people dancing with us =))

Jio was there. He made paturo songs from Ave Q since I brought the score, and after each song I teach he'd say, 'ayoko yun..di ko alam yun..'. Goodness, Jio hahaha. So he ended up with Aida songs (DUH).

Anyhoo. It's funny when Dan said that he's gonna kill the next person who sings On My Own, HAHAHA. That song's completely overused and it's one of the biggest no-no songs for auditions! :)) AWHOLELOT of people sang that song and really, it's getting very hilarious.

This was THE FIRST time in my whole life that I changed my audition piece on the LAST MINUTE =)) Tricia thought that since Purpose is a guy song, the key might be too low for me and I might get lost and screw up in front of Chari (noooooo.....). So there. I changed it to Forever Yours from OOTIS. Can't believe I did that. And what's sooo annoying is, Special is my better song. So I should sing it first, right? But nooo.. when I entered, they got the OOTIS minus one right away and there was NO pianist! Rony was sitting beside Chari, faaaaar away from the piano and ohhh nooo, Forever Yours was playing and I was freezing in front of Chari. I find her soooo intimidating (who doesn't?) =/ Anyhoo.. I was freaking out but I had no choice but to sing Forever Yours :( ohwell. It was okay.

Okay. Digression to the next annoying conjunction she said which was "but..". HAHA. THERE'S A BIG CONFLICT IN MY SCHEDULE. My classes are effing annoying. I still have classes upto 9pm and rehearsals start December 1st!

It's sooo funny. The last time I auditioned in front of Chari was during Beauty and the Beast (Atlantis), and I had THE SAME exact problem. SCHEDULE. It's the second time I heard her ask me 'are you from La Salle?' =)) What is it with my effing class schedule and shows that're with Chari!?

Haha. In short, I auditioned just for the heck of it. I have no plans of joining it either way =)) Even if I make it or not, my school schedule's a real mess and there's no way I can get to Katipunan from Taft in 5 effing minutes. At least I gained another happy comment from Chari. That's all I worked for, nyahaha. Besides, we're not getting paid anyway, no help to poverty.

Anyway, after the whole stint, Tricia and I stayed to hang out with Joms, Reb, Alys, Jio, and other happy friends.

Yesterday

... was a happy day. My mom, my brother and I gathered after dinner because we watched THE POWER RANGERS MOVIE! Omg. Happiness. The three of us were hysterically laughing our hearts out while watching. It was soooo funny how our Power Rangers obsession came to consume us alive, hahaha. After about ten long years of idle-ranger years, we finally saw the movie again (though I loved the series more than the movie). Mom was making us kwento about how we went crazy over that whole stint way back, and when I remember I want to cry and laugh at the same time :)) We used to have A WHOLE LOT of PR toys and costumes pa from the States for Halloween and I always had the yellow ranger! I didn't like pink ranger before because ever since I was little (uhh, little-ler?), I didn't want to be the same with the rest of the people...coz everyone wanted Kimberly, hahaha. So devastating.

Because our org, KinoEye, had an Indie Film Directing talk/workshop with Direk Jon Red, food were provided for the people who attended. There were a lot of spare packed lunch left unconsumed, and because of that..

The kids were a bit scary, coz they were pretty aggressive while swarming around us. They kept on asking and asking for more, 'para sa tatay ko', 'para sa kapatid ko'.. At first I was touched when I thought they were really concerned about their family.. But one of them kept on asking from me, first he said 'isa pa para sa tatay ko!', so I gave another one.. Then after handing it to him, he said again 'pahingi ulit para sa tatay ko..'

Aba naman, ang dami naman niyang tatay!

Hahaha.

Anyhow, Sir NSTP said that he chose me, Ashley and Janina to be sent to Zambales for an overnight outreach on the 25th-26th.
That means I really can't make it to BlueRep's HSM auditions.

Trumpets' Joseph The Dreamer

Okay. So I met up with Tricia at Megamall at around 12:30ish and we went happy planner-hunting at Powerbooks and National and Toy Kingdom....? Hahaha.

(commercial. I SAW KATSIE! Yeay Katrielle! And we screamed when we realized that we saw each other, hahaha)

So there, we went to Cinema 4 where Joseph The Dreamer's showing and there were tons of students outside the theater since it wasn't open house yet. But we got in ahead of them and sat on the sponsors' seats :) THANKS SO MUCHIES, JEPOY!

The show was hella awesome. They sounded really great, and if you'd not notice the lapels on their cheeks, you might think it's not live coz their voices were perfect. No overpowering voices, no flats and sharps especially for the chorus numbers! I loved it. We had soooo much fun watching!

But the thing was the crowd wasn't exactly theater-goers. They were a very big bunch of students from some school, twas a full house coz of 'em btw. SOOOOO it was only the four of us (Me, Tricia, Joms, Liz) who were applauding and screaming. Those students reminded me of our audience during our Looney Alley (Avenue Q Musical) DTR at PhilamLife theater, nyar. Not such a lovely reminder.

I'm a bit obsessed over my 2007 planner. I went to Powerbooks the other day but there weren't happy planners yet, and I don't really like Starbucks' planner for next year. So..I guess I'm designing my own! Fun fun! :) Photoshop mode again.

Too bad I'm the type to really WANT what I want in an instant. Will never stop til I get it right away. So..even if it's still 'round two effin' months before the new year, I'm really fuzzing over this whole thing to pacify myself, hahaha.

I stayed up til 4:00 this morning trying to download happy icons and pics from the net in case I can add em to my planner design. But I ended up with nothing on Photoshop. When I woke up a while ago, I went in front of the pc and started my pathetic attempt again.. But this time I came up with something...

I'll attempt to make some more. HAHAHA.
